Pedestrian on skateboard killed in New York truck accident

New York — A man in his twenties was hit by a box truck near Manhattan’s Union Square according to witnesses. The truck accident killed the pedestrian victim and his death is still under investigation. Witnesses provided conflicting accounts of who may have been at fault in the fatal accident. The victim, who was a college student in New York City, was killed when he fell under the truck and was run over by the wheels of the truck. Police are searching for a bicyclist who was riding on the wrong side of the road and may have caused the accident. Officials do not believe the bicycle rider actually hit the skateboarder but there is reason to believe that the bike rider was involved. Some witnesses reported that the skateboarder had to swerve into traffic in order to avoid a collision with the apparently negligent driver of the bicycle. If the bicycle driver was in fact the cause of the accident, he may also be charged with a hit-and-run violation after leaving the scene of the deadly accident. An accident that causes bodily injury or wrongful death needs to be reported immediately to police and the people directly involved must stay at the crash scene until police have arrived. This also applies to a bicycle accident with injuries according to an accident attorney in New York City. You can find out more about this truck vs pedestrian accident here.
