Deadly drag racing car crash blamed on drunk drivers

New York – Two car accident victims were killed last week on the Nassau Expressway near the border between Long Island and Queens. Five other victims were injured in the highway accident according to police reports. The two victims that were killed were a recently engaged couple that were driving home when they were hit. The collision caused their car to burst into flames and the trapped couple died in the fire. Emergency responders explained that the multi-vehicle car accident left tremendous amounts of damage and injuries ranging from broken bones to spinal injuries to critical injuries. Investigators into the cause of the fatal collision have noted several pieces of evidence that point to reckless driving, drag racing and even drunk driving. Police have arrested and charged two of the people involved in the crash. They believe that the cause of the accident was well more than just carelessness or even negligence. Prosecutors believe that the criminal actions of two of the drivers are what caused the motor vehicle accident. Stolen car involved in multiple vehicle car crash in Brooklyn

New York – The Belt Parkway in Brooklyn was the scene of a serious car accident involving three vehicles this week. Police believe that the collision began with a stolen SUV speeding down the highway without its headlights on, being driven by the car thief. The thief stole the vehicle in Crown Heights and then drove it recklessly through the city streets until he rear-ended another SUV. That SUV accident didn’t stop the dangerous driver, who fled the scene of the accident and then hit another car. The man then fled the scene of that second collision and eventually hit the highway divider and caused a roll-over accident. Eventually he jumped out of the damaged vehicle and ran away on foot, according to investigators. In his wake, the reckless driving car thief left eight injured accident victims, who were all taken to various New York hospitals. The injuries ranged from minor to critical injuries, reportedly including severe internal injuries and possibly a head injury from the crash. At least three of the injured passengers were children according to officials. Additional investigation is needed to find the hit-and-run driver who apparently stole the vehicle after a woman had left it unlocked in front of her apartment building. Police also explained that the woman had rented the car from someone else in New Jersey. Injuries from taxi accident involving two cabs on Manhattan street

New York – This car crash involved two taxis that collided after one of the drivers apparently ran through a red light. Witnesses of the red light accident explained that one of the vehicles, a minivan, T-boned the car, causing that second vehicle to jump the curb. After running onto the sidewalk, it crashed into pedestrians who were eating in a restaurant’s outdoor seating area. One of the accident victims was a baby who was thrown from his stroller and fell to the ground. He suffered a leg injury with suspected broken bone. Several additional injury victims were passengers in one of the cabs. The young child was the most seriously injured in this sidewalk accident according to authorities. Drunk driver blamed for fatal car crash in Queens

New York – Police investigators from the NYPD have determined that an intoxicated driver caused the four car accident on the Grand Central Parkway this past Sunday. The tragic crash began when the driver of an SUV, apparently drunk, hit a second SUV truck causing a series of collisions. Several of the vehicles rolled over during the accident and 2 victims were killed, including a 34-year-old man and a teenager. Motorcycle accident kills one and injures another crash victim

Multiple car crash pile-up in Staten Island being investigated

New York – As many as twelve vehicles were involved in a horrific car accident in a busy Staten Island intersection. Police believe that the multi-car pile-up began when an elderly woman crashed her car into a pick-up truck on Victory Boulevard at a traffic light. Witnesses note that the senior citizen was speeding through the intersection when she lost control. This set off a chain reaction where her car then slammed into additional vehicles at the red light, causing more cars to crash into one another as well. The woman suffered a severe head injury and subsequently died in the hospital. One of the vehicles that the elderly woman’s car hit was an SUV being driven by a 75-year-old man. That SUV driver died of the injuries from an accident, according to emergency responders. Officials note that at least 12 other accident victims were injured in the incident and received emergency treatment. Severe injuries from Long Island Expressway motor vehicle accident

New York – Police and rescue crews worked all night on Monday to investigate and remove a car accident in Nassau County. The initial reports from the crash scene indicated that a man was standing on the highway when a car hit the pedestrian. However, it now appears that the first car was involved in a single car crash when it hit the road guardrail and then the median divider. Two people got out of the car and were then hit by a car that was being driven by an off-duty police officer. That pedestrian accident ended in the death of both crash victims. Multiple injuries after drag racing car crash on Long Island

New York – Police in Hempstead, NY responded to a car accident that was apparently caused by two vehicles that were drag racing on public streets. Long Island car crash involves fire department truck and a car

New York – Two vehicles were involved in a collision on Thursday, injuring three accident victims. Stony Brook fire department officials confirmed that the car accident involved the department chief’s SUV truck. The truck accident was still under investigation to determine the cause but there is no indication at this time that the fire chief was driving with emergency lights and sirens. Reports also indicate that the fire department vehicle was not on its way to an emergency call at the time of the SUV accident.
